I'm really excited to be starting some photography classes tonight! I pulled out my 35mm and hope to *finally* learn how to use it properly. I'm starting with just a basic class and then next month I'm going to learn Darkroom for black and white. Hopefully in March I'll be able to afford the Darkroom for color. I found a FANTASTIC place close to me that does classes, workshops and field trips. It also has a Darkroom and digital lab that you can rent by the hour to process your own pics. I think I'm most excited about finally being able to learn how to process my own pics... it's very... romantic to me...
I need to get a flash for my camera and was shocked to learn it'll cost me around 300 for one. I also didn't realize how much paper for processing was for prints either... that was a shock. My husband said I had to pick something REALLY expensive to want to do... and of course, that's par for the course.
All in all, IF my work turns out interesting or any good I'll start posting it on DA but I'm going to open a new account to get a fresh start from this one. I'll keep you all posted!

And in some whacky mundane news Nintendo contacted me yesterday and they want to interview me for their company... /swoons

Update:
Turns out the camera I own ISN'T any good for learning photography on. I can't manually change apeture or shutter speed... I guess I assumed all 35mm cameras did that...guess not. Now I'm scrambling for a new/old 35mm that works. I just bought a Fujica ST605 and after 2 rolls of film have come to realize it doesn't work. I also am at a HUGE disadvantage to the other students since I'm the only one with a 35mm film camera. Those with a digital SLR can literally take thousand of pictures trying to figure it out or to get the right shot. I have to shot once and pray I did it right. I just don't have the money to continually buy, shot and process film... I seriously think the world is against me sometimes! I just want to do something the easy way for a change!!

When life gives you lemons, rub them in your eyes. It'll make you cry harder and look more pitiful.
Saw this and thought of you. Please, please, please don't think I'm being dismissive and reclusive, I've just been hella busy lately with work and everything else. We didn't make it to Renfest at all this year, either Debbie was working or we had other stuff planned. Couldn't make it to the Haunted House invite because of my Friday night class I teach in Bay City. Bought a new car finally...2004 Grand Prix, only has 28,000 on it...it's way too nice for me...I don't deserve it...now I just need to make the payments..wheee! More debt!
This past weekend, Debbie and I went away for opur anniversary up north..spent too much, but had a good time.
I miss you Erica, I don't ever want you to think I'm ignoring you, because I'm not...I always see things that remind me of you and i want to write you something, but I'm just caught up in everything. Hopefully I can write you more than just a note soon.
Love, Ward.
